Looking back...

It is a beautiful April evening, my mom has taken Gracie to softball practice, and I am trying to catch up on random pictures that I have taken in the past two months.  I'm so thankful that my mom can help me out with some of her practices.  It gives me time to sit down, pay bills, look at Facebook, and catch up on my blog.  Here are a few random thoughts before dinner time...

Here are my first two pictures trying out my hipstamatic app on my phone.  These next two pics are supposed to look like something that was taken on film in 1969.  Still figuring out how it works!

Every couple of weeks we like to bring Bill lunch at work and the kids always want to play school.  Here we see Dylan telling his students to be quiet, and if they are going to mess around they can just "get right out of here!"

I absolutely LOVE scrabble and have been so excited the past few months to share that love with my own kids.  Luke has even slowly started to get interested.  Caleb loves games more than anyone in the family I think!  He loves to get one out of the game closet, dump all the pieces out, play with them for a few minutes then leave the mess all over the floor!  It is very tempting for all of us to just clean it up quickly for him, but we are all working together to train him better in cleaning up after himself!

For Molly's 30th birthday Aunt Gail organized a surprise party at Molly's favorite yogurt shop.  Denise and I accidentally spoiled the surprise but had a great laugh about the whole thing.  The kids loved getting to have their own yogurt and put as many toppings as they wanted!

Denise and Delena had just finished doing a birthday party for her nephew so she brought pirate party favors for all of the kiddos!   Here we have Wade, Luke, Emi, Gracie and Winona.

I found this picture the other day and had to include it with Sarah's birthday picture!  Here we have Sarah with Delaney, Wyatt, Dylan and Madison.  I think Dylan was around 6 months old in this picture!  And now 11 years later, there are LOTS more kids!
Here's Sarah with her cookie bar cake for her birthday with everyone.  There is a piece missing due to Bill's sweet tooth :)
and finally, here are some pics from one of our favorite places to go... the Archibald library!  Caleb loves looking at books, especially anything that has Arthur or the Berenstain Bears.  Luke has really taken off in his reading and it is so exciting to see him pick up books and read the whole thing by himself!  Gracie is in the middle of Pollyanna right now, another one of my favorites, and Dylan has been enjoying Sherlock Holmes.

Guess my time is up for tonight.  Gracie is home from practice, it's 8:15 and time to start the process of getting everyone in bed.

  2. 3 things:
    1. Seeing you and Denise trying to hide from me in the hallway at the yogurt place was one of the funniest, most surprising things to ever happen to me. Thanks for making sure to get a pic of the three of us.
    2. I love the pic of Dylan with Madison and Delaney. All of them so grown up.
    3. Seeing the pics of the kids reading at Archibald Library made me wish I still worked at the Tech Center so I could have just walked over for a chat. Those days feel like forever ago.

  3. Makes me smile how much Caleb especially loves to read. I think I'll start reading your blog with him. "Caleb reading a book!" "Luke reading a book!" Gracie reading a book!" Dylan reading a book!" Love games with Caleb and Luke.

You can mark down influencing me to like Scrabble as a big accomplishment. You can ask mom, she tried my whole life.

Thanks for birthdays every year. It makes them really special and I look forward to that picture with the kids. Love looking at the one from a couple years ago on my mug.

That's a great picture, hard to believe they were all that little once. Matt enjoyed that picture.. they were all so cute! I wish I wouldn't have missed those years but I'm so glad we are here now to catch all of Caleb's growing up :)

    Love you!
